Harmony, clash & relationship patterns

Learn AstroOne’s supported Chinese Zodiac scope, with calculation boundaries kept separate from interpretation.

Interpretive convention

Read 六合, 三合-group, 冲 and 害 as relationship vocabulary

Traditional Chinese metaphysical texts use branch relationships such as 合, 三合, 冲 and 害. The Ming text Sanming Tonghui discusses 六合 and 三合 separately and explicitly warns that a clash should not be treated as uniformly good or bad without context.

AstroOne method

How AstroOne tags branch relationships

The current compatibility engine uses six 六合 pairs, pair-membership within four 三合 groups, six clash pairs and six harm pairs as deterministic tags. A tag contributes to relationship scoring but is not the whole relationship verdict.

  • 六合: Rat–Ox · Tiger–Pig · Rabbit–Dog · Dragon–Rooster · Snake–Monkey · Horse–Goat
  • 六冲: Rat–Horse · Ox–Goat · Tiger–Monkey · Rabbit–Rooster · Dragon–Dog · Snake–Pig
School-specific

AstroOne’s “trine” tag is not the same as a complete 三合局

Sanming Tonghui discusses 三合 as a three-branch formation and says that a missing member does not make the complete formation. AstroOne’s compatibility engine nevertheless uses `trine` as a supportive pair tag when two animals belong to the same 三合 group. Academy labels this as a product simplification, not a claim that two branches form a complete classical 三合局.

Limitation

Do not turn one relation tag into a fate verdict

The current engine also carries break/punishment metadata and a deterministic temperament matrix. Because the compatibility layer combines traditional tags with product-specific scoring, Academy does not teach a standalone rule such as “this pair is bad.”

Worked example

Reading Rat + Horse without turning clash into doom

  1. Input

    Person A: Rat / Zǐ · Person B: Horse / Wǔ

  2. Calculation

The engine relation lookup tags Rat–Horse as 六冲 / `six_clash`.

  3. Factors to inspect

Inspect the traditional tag, yin/yang, branch elements, product temperament metrics and the real relationship context separately.

  4. Reasoning

A clash can be treated as a signal to inspect tension or difference, but Sanming Tonghui itself says clashes can operate differently according to context rather than carrying one automatic outcome.

  5. Synthesis

AstroOne may combine the clash tag with product dimensions such as communication and conflict repair, but the synthesis should not describe the relationship as doomed.

Interpretation

A useful interpretation points to where differences need management; it is not a fear prediction.
