School differences & quick reference
Learn the Myanmar Astrology / Mahabote methods AstroOne actually uses, with extra care where traditional schools differ.
Treat school differences as normal in Myanmar Astrology
Traditional Myanmar Astrology should not be universalized from one teacher’s rule set. Mahabote house interpretation, Wednesday/Rahu handling and additional timing practices can differ by lineage.
Always state what AstroOne actually chose to implement
The calculation authority for this track is the current Myanmar-calendar service: calendar conversion, seven-day Mahabote arithmetic, Yatyaza, Pyathada, Sabbath-family indicators, Nagahle and the supplementary Wednesday split. Rules outside that scope are not taught as if the engine implements them.
One reference cannot stand for the whole tradition
A historical book, a modern teacher and a calendar algorithm serve different roles. It is more rigorous to verify calculation formulas with technical sources and interpretive claims separately with historical or traditional sources.
- Calculation fact → reproducible algorithm / current engine
- AstroOne method → the implementation chosen by the product
- Interpretive convention → meaning framework, not arithmetic
- School-specific → not assumed to apply to every lineage
What to do when two teachers use different rules
- Input
Scenario: teacher A splits Wednesday at noon; teacher B teaches a different handling.
- Calculation
AstroOne current engine uses Wednesday code 4 for Mahabote and a supplementary noon-based wednesday_am / rahu_wednesday_pm label when exact time exists.
- Factors to inspect
Inspect teacher A/B claims, current engine behavior and historical evidence as three different evidence types.
- Reasoning
Historical evidence can support the existence of a half-day Rahu convention without proving that only one teacher’s rule is universally correct.
- Synthesis
In the Academy, state AstroOne’s method precisely and label the possibility of alternative lineages; do not turn a rule the engine does not use into a tutorial formula.
Interpretation: showing provenance instead of hiding disagreement helps the learner see what is calculation and what is a traditional choice.
Methodology sources
These are the main technical, historical or interpretive references used to verify the lesson. AstroOne behavior is cross-checked separately against the current implementation and verification checks.
