Worked year-boundary example
Learn AstroOne’s supported Chinese Zodiac scope, with calculation boundaries kept separate from interpretation.
A worked example should expose the data first
This lesson uses two fictional dates on opposite sides of Chinese New Year 2026 to show the full input → calculation → factors → reasoning → synthesis → interpretation flow. No real user profile is used.
Do not replace engine output with a memorized animal table
Interpretation starts only after taking the engine’s boundary-resolved year, animal, branch, polarity, branch element and year element. No “lucky/unlucky” language belongs in this calculation step.
Reasoning should say why the factors are being connected
Explain the role of the branch relation, Five-Phase relation and current-year editorial layer before combining them. Synthesis is not simply lining up separate output sentences.
A worked example is not proof of prediction
The example demonstrates method, not proof that a future event will occur. Do not confuse certainty about a calendar calculation with certainty about an astrological interpretation.
16 vs 17 February 2026 — the full reasoning chain
- Input
Fictional A: 2026-02-16 · Fictional B: 2026-02-17
- Calculation
Chinese New Year 2026 = 17 February. A → Chinese year 2025 → Snake / Sì / Yin / branch Fire / year Wood. B → Chinese year 2026 → Horse / Wǔ / Yang / branch Fire / year Fire.
- Factors to inspect
Inspect boundary result, animal/branch, polarity, branch element and year element. If comparing A and B, also note that Snake–Horse does not receive one of the engine’s major traditional harmony/clash/harm tags.
- Reasoning
The dates are only one day apart, yet the calendar boundary changes the year context. That does not mean a whole personality magically changes overnight; it means the symbolic year layer is different.
- Synthesis
The synthesis is simply to place A in a Wood-Snake year layer and B in a Fire-Horse year layer correctly, then keep later interpretation in possibility language.
The calculation can determine which year layer applies. Interpretation can only discuss the symbolic meaning of that layer within the method’s limited scope.
